Snug PatioThe door from the snug leads onto a small, enclosed patio area. This is west facing and gets the sun on summer evenings. This will be a lovely place for some sun loving flowers and for a lovely patio set. We can imagine sitting out here having dinner in the summer!
On this patio is the original lifting chain and handle for the old well. This well spans the divide between Monks Chambers and No 3 Church Lane. The well was apparently very deep and was filled in with bottles, pots etc. during the 1960s. At some point in the future we may think about removing the fillings to see it the well can be restored.
