The loft / roof space in the property shows interesting signs of the history
of the building. Looking at the structure of the roof it is clearly possible to see
the supporting struts and the pegs that hold everyting together.

The Roof Beams and Struts
There is also evidence of the age of the roof that can be clearly seen by the fact that
the rafters meet at the top and are pegged together. Later roof structures introduced a
ridge timber that runs the length of the roof.

Old Method of Joining Rafters Without a Ridge Timber
Also in the loft there are some old wattle and daub panel infills that were not
replaced with brick alternatives. These provide a very interesting insight into
original construction of the building.
